“Self-determination", “freedom / Azadi" etc., catching up in J " K State! http://www.knskashmir.com/local/Local%20Aug.%2023,%200.htm Srinagar Aug 23: Life in Kashmir Valley was paralysed today following a three-day shutdown called by separatists, with protests being staged in some areas. The valley wore a deserted look as both public and private transport kept off the roads. Business establishments, markets, government offices, educational institutions, banks and other semi-government organisations remained closed in Srinagar and elsewhere in the Valley, officials said. There was no report of untoward incident from any part of Kashmir, they said. The biggest gathering was at Anantnag town followed by smaller groups at Rambagh and Bemina in the city. Protests were also held at Iqbal Park, Magarmal Bagh, Hyderpora, Bagh-e-Mehtab and other areas of the city. A group of protesters carrying green and black flags went around Srinagar city on motorcycles and scooters raising slogans against BJP and Shiv Sena. The Coordination Committee — an amalgam of separatist outfits-- yesterday revived its agitation, sparked by the Amarnath land row, asking people in the Valley to observe a three-day shutdown from today to press for “right to self determination". (Arundhati Roy has fueled) It also demanded a dialogue involving India, Pakistan and representatives of the people of Jammu and Kashmir to resolve the Kashmir issue. (Note the implication, as if they have been in an Independent country). Protests against the “economic blockade" of the valley by Amarnath Sangarsh Samiti in Jammu began on August 7, leading to call by separatists for march to Muzaffarabad. As many as 22 persons including senior Hurriyat Conference leader Shiekh Abdul Aziz were killed in violence in three days from August 11. Kashmir has been by and large peaceful since August 15. Hold talks with Kashmir Coordination Committee: PDP http://www.knskashmir.com/local/Local%20Aug.%2023,%201.htm Srinagar August 23: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today made it clear that only the party President Ms Mehbooba Mufti is authorized to put forth the party"s point of view at any forum, official or unofficial, on how to defuse the present crisis facing the State. In a statement issued here today, a party spokesman said that the observations made verbally or communicated in black and white to any forum by any member of the party, in Delhi, Jammu or Srinagar, without taking into confidence the PDP leadership should be construed as purely his/her individual views having no mandate from the party. He said necessary disciplinary action would be taken against any member of the party who puts across his views at any forum without taking the PDP leadership into confidence on the issue. Reiterating the party"s stand on how to defuse the present crisis, the PDP spokesman quoting the party President said that before arriving at any decision, the Government must take all sections of the Kashmiri society, including the newly constituted Kashmir Coordination Committee into confidence. “As has been decided already the Government must be entrusted with the responsibility of making arrangements for the Amarnath Yatra and the environment and weather concerns, as have been pointed out by the Nitish Sengupta Committee, must be taken into consideration while arriving at any decision in this regard," he said. Welcoming the initiation of dialogue with the Shri Amarnath Sangarsh Samiti (SASS) in Jammu, the spokesman said that PDP is eagerly looking forward towards resolving the crisis amicably in the larger interest of peace and tranquility, but at the same time any decision in this regard should not be taken in isolation. Uprising in occupied Kashmir incurs loss of Rs. 5000 crores to Indian industry http://www.knskashmir.com/local/Local%20Aug.%2023,%205.htm New Delhi Aug 23 (APP): The current uprising in occupied Kashmir has incurred loss of Rs. 5000 crores to Indian industry. According to an influential body of traders and industrialists “Assocham,” tourism, carpet, cottage, dry fruits and food processing industries were adversely affected by the upheaval which has been continuing for the last two months. The Hindu extremists have imposed economic blockade of the Kashmir valley. An appeal to the “Jihadis" / Islamic terrorists: * Recently also, GOI has given Central Excise, Service tax, Customs and other exemptions, but the Islamic terrorists and seperatists do not want in such constrctive actions to promote the economy and welfare of the state, but they bend on spoiling everything in the name of “jihad" killimg “kafirs" and so on! Shujaat Bukhari http://www.hindu.com/2008/08/24/stories/2008082458010100.htm SRINAGAR: The United Jehad Council on Saturday asked militants to put on hold their activities in the Kashmir Valley. This comes in the wake of heightened demands for “Azadi.” Kashmir News Service, a local news agency quoted Syed Salahuddin, head of the UJC, a 13-member amalgam of militant organisations, as asking separatist politicians to pass a resolution for “freedom” and limit their struggle to achieving the goal of “right to self- determination.” “The UJC has unanimously decided to silence the guns in Kashmir. We have decided that no active militant will display weapons in public during the rallies and marches,” KNS quoted Salahuddin, who is operating from Muzaffarabad, capital of PoK (inactive militants would display weapons in the public!). He said the militants had been asked to put their activities in Kashmir on hold in the areas where rallies for freedom were taking place. Such a step would not give the security forces any excuse to open fire on unarmed protesters. He, however, clarified that militants would continue to strike at troopers in border areas, where there was no population. Salahuddin, who is also the Supreme Commander of the Hizbul Mujahideen, urged the Hurriyat Conference to pass a freedom resolution before the people at the next public rally. * The militants, seperatists and jihadis / Azadi crying forces should think as to why they are held responsible for spoiling the peace processes. * Last more than 30 years with the Islamic / jihadi terrorism and cross-border heinous violence carried on in the name of Allah, Quran, Jihadi etc., have been open resulting in the killing of innocent people. * If the jihadis choose and kill Hindus, naturally, it is evident that the terrorists have been targetting Hindus. * In action, counter-action and protecting action, if the Police, para-military and secuirity forces operate, the killed people would be invariably “Muslims", as they are only involved in such anti-national activities. Had “Hindu terrorists" been there acting along with such “jihadis", then naturally, there would be “Hindus" also. * Therefore, they should not take people for granted telling lies after everything has happened. * If they really want peaceful and beutiful old Kashmir, they should renounce terrorism and join with peace process. * In fact, their determination of their “selves" could be directed towards such welfare acrivities. * The climate of Kashmir is the most suitable for the MNCs to put up their factories like IT, electronics etc. If these terrorists renounce their terorism and close domn their “terror-factories", they can come and set up their factories, so that Kashmir might become one of the leading states of India economically. * Definitely, there would be seriously thinking elements among the “United Jihadi Council", and they could think in this lines for betterment and peace. |

What is hapening in kashmir is noting but religion and religion in play.Anywhere in the world they are not at peace with other religions and fight for the peice of islamic land. Islamic teaching extorts to not accept peace with any religion and government(democracy). They have ethnically cleaned their land of kashmiri hindus, they should use the phrase muslims want a free kashmir not use kashmiris want freedom. Also they want to go with a failed state than stay with a vibrant democracy, which is religion Islam at play.
